I just reproduced the problem on a pop box reported to me before having the protocol logginn and this is what I found
Note: user had 9 messages and at message 7 the error ocurred. After calling the rest the other 2 msg came up. after that no prob with this account. Should I add some cfif msg number is "." skit it or something?

We have many POP accounts here do not have reports of this. I would suggest
turning on protocol logging to see exactly what's happening. It might also
be worthwhile to log queries from your PASS template. The PASS template is
used to return a list of waiting messages to the POP client. iMS take this
list and provides it to the mail client when a LIST command is received.
One thing that you need to be careful of is that FusionMail, by default,
shares messages among multiple recipients. So, you need to be careful in
your QUIT template so that you don't delete a mail file that is shared with
another user.
