Hi Howie,
Thanks for the explanations! One last question ... :)
I purposely sent and email with a bad email
address to test if POSTSE will send me a fail
notice. Here is the log file entries:
03/28/2001 09:35:01 AM Next queued mail is scheduled for 03/28/2001 09:40:03
03/28/2001 09:35:31 AM Added 2 files to queue.
03/28/2001 09:35:32 AM [003] Send mail start for 07652F2C9620D511BDFE.mbx (Priority 5)
03/28/2001 09:35:32 AM [003] Connect to mxvm1.mail.yahoo.com
03/28/2001 09:35:33 AM [003] Sending mail to mxvm1.mail.yahoo.com
03/28/2001 09:35:34 AM [003] WARNING: Error sending mail. Mail server responded:
03/28/2001 09:35:34 AM [003] WARNING: (<-mxvm1.mail.yahoo.com) 554 delivery error: dd
This user doesn't have a ty555.net account ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) - mta2-vm1.mail.yahoo.com
03/28/2001 09:35:34 AM [003] Completed Processing
I didn't receive a failure message after this delivery
error, and the system did not tag it to reschedule like
the other intermittent errors - since this is a failure
I assume. I have the postfail.cfm (and postwarn.cfm) templates
in the domains subdirectory and am using the FAILTO and
WARNTO in the CFXIMSMAIL tag as you suggested. The
POST Fail and POST Warn are checked in the configuration
and I stopped and restarted the POST SE server to
accept the changes.
I have been receiving the warning messages after 4 hours
of retying, but not this type of failure.
Should I have it configured a different way to receive
the fail notices? Thanks again!
Mark
