'k, installed 2.9, changed logging to do the tickcount immediately before 
and after the cfx, and restarted CF.  Times are similarly all over the 
place (though I haven't seen an 8-second one yet):

2001-11-27 13:02:17 TIME: 453 HTML: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2001-11-27 13:02:17 TIME: 172 HTML: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2001-11-27 13:02:18 TIME: 610 HTML: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2001-11-27 13:02:18 TIME: 203 HTML: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2001-11-27 13:02:19 TIME: 1000 HTML: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
