Subject: [iMS] POST Queue questions
Howie,
I have some questions about POST server.
1) If I restart POST server, will any mail processing mail in
the queues get lost? or
will POST reschedule it into
the queue, in the priority specified in the control file?
No - this would be a drastic bug it
it worked that way...
2) I currently have over 40k mail files within the priority 9
queue. I'm inserting
some mail into POST, with
either a priority of 1 or 5. Now the mail w/ priority
1 or 5 takes many hours to process. I've included a portion of
the log file
below that displays the queue
status. Note the second entry, POST seems to be
skipping over Priority 1, and processing Priority 9 mail files
first. Is this
correct?
If the mail in the number 1 queue is not yet
ready for delivery (based on the next delivery time) then the other queue will
be processed - the iMS queue definitely works properly.
01/16/2002 12:46:03 PM Current Post Queue status (46013
records in all queues) [1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,46012]
01/16/2002 12:46:03 PM Currently processing (255 records in all queues)
[0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,255]
Also, I have the setting Maximum Size of Process Queue set to
0. The overall goal for
me right now is to
troubleshoot why my priority 1, 5 mails are having a long
delivery time.
The higher priority queues should definitely go
out first so I'm not really sure what is happening..
Regards,
Howie
Thanks for your help.
