we have being in a long journey of evaluating all kinds of smtp virus getways on the last months.. by now from all the ones I have tested Micro Trend SMTP getway is the best.. its so stable and fast..   this month's turn is for mcafee smtp gateway I will set it up tomorrow.. has any body test it before?   is not that I work for the consumer report magazine :P but I don't want to make a mistake again buy paying as I did before for a virus getway that is not stable or goes beyond our budget like micro trend's  :(    licences for over 2500 users are expensive

Sorry about the late reply.  iMS does not have any hooks for virus scanning perse, but, of course, it does hook into CF at several points during the SMTP protocol.  So, what you would need to do is decode the mail into a temp folder and then call a command-line virus scanner with cfexecute and process it that way.  In the future there will be a better mechanism for doing this.

I know this thread has surfaced before, but I'm looking for a good virus protection program to run on my Win2K Adv. Server machine which will work with iMS well.  Any suggestions?
