HI Chris.. its McAfee's turn to evaluate.. I haven't done it before so I
cannot tall yet.. but I will on a couple of weeks.. I will start today with
some local domains that wont affect our commercial services. the Trend
micro solution would cost about 17 usd for each user a year.. Its not that
much if our current customers would agree of paying the extra to solve the
invest problem but the fact is that in general they wont like the idea of
paying more even if they will have a large benefit from a smtp virus
gateway. Other strategy would be to have it optional .. if we go that way
Trend micro would be the option.. I am very pleased with their product
(http://www.antivirus.com/products/ismss/features.htm) .. bad thing about
Trend Micro is that the local Trend Micro re seller in Monterrey Mexico
wants every name and intern customer information to see the actual number
of licences we need.. that's really out of the question :-\ .. that's
private information and they don't have the right of asking or knowing our
customers names .. this is value information and most of all, 'private',
from my personal point of view.. they need to have a little trust on the
customer..

note:
I am taking just about the local re seller in our city.. don't want to
offend if there is any Trend Micro re seller on the list.

getting back to ims/virus talk.. the negative side about smtp gateways is
that smart delivery can't be used since it doesn't use smtp to send ..

Regards
