iMS 2.2 is almost ready for release. We're just waiting on the manual update, some
last-minute testing and the new code for our key
server (which is rewritten in ColdFusion and runs on port 80 instead of the
non-standard ports that we use now - 81 and 8888).
Anyway, we're looking at a release in maybe one week.

When iMS 2.2 is installed as an upgrade to an existing server please be aware that the
existing software key will no longer work in
iMS 2.2. The new version of iMS uses an entirely new key and we decided that we would
not support the old-style keys in the new
version. The installer will detect and save an old-style key to the registry so that
you can restore it if you need to reinstall
iMS 2.1 or lower. The server that you install 2.2 on will need to have access to
tcp/ip port 80 so please make sure that this port
is not blocked when you perform the upgrade.

New iMS 2.2 features:

- Better performance when using other servers for mail relay.

- Ability to choose round-robin selection of the outgoing servers.

- Better RBL support

- Integrated bounce server. This server is available for all iMS versions when the
SMTP server is not opted for (as in iMS-SE).
This bounce server is a special version of the SMTP server that is used for processing
bounced mails.

We will also be starting two new policies regarding upgrades and support.

Upgrades:

All current iMS users will receive free upgrades up to iMS 2.5. After that you will
need to have an upgrade subscription in order
to apply an upgrade to an existing system. iMS 2.5 will be fully supported for one
year after release for any client that chooses
not to upgrade beyond that version (meaning that bug fixes but not feature upgrades
will be available).

Support:

We will continue to provide free support via this email list and installation support
via this list and by phone during our normal
business hours. We will also be providing paid support for clients that need
additional support. This will include priority email
and 8x5 or 24x7 support for iMS.

Please let me know if there are any questions.

Regards,
