Don't know about the sending part, but if you are referring to mail servers bouncing emails back to the wrong "Return_Path" address - try setting the SMTPFrom to the Return Path address.  This took care of ~90% of my bounces.

Has anyone found a work around for mail servers sending messages for bad email addresses?

Sorry, but I kind of remember this question/answer but wanted to just double check...

I have the following header enabled in my messages:

SMTPFROM="#GetClient.company# <#Project.EmailFrom#>"
FAILTO="#fail_address#"
HEADER_Errors_To="#fail_address#"
HEADER_Return_Path="#fail_address#"
HEADER_Reply_To="#GetClient.company# <#Project.EmailReply#>"
HEADER_From="#GetClient.company# <#Project.EmailFrom#>"
My clients are getting a ton of messages coming in to them from the mailings.  Most of them are "Out of Office" messages that are simply going back to the 'From' address or 'Reply-to' address, which is fine - but they are also getting some bounces.  Is this because the email server on the other end is sending the 'bounced error' to the 'From/Reply-to' addresses instead of the 'Errors-to' address as they should?

Yes.  There is nothing to force the other mail server to send bounces properly.

My clients still want to get replies and have their email listed in the From, so I'm stuck with that.  I've been telling them that it is because some email servers choose to send it back to that particular address or don't recognize the 'Errors-to' header.  Am I simply blowing smoke or am I right?

You are correct...

HTH,

Howie

Thanks,
Bill
