Then I don't quite understand how adding the return_path would help you track the bounce back?  I don't know if I'm being particularly dense, but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly how to do this..

The mail returned from another mail server as a bounce back is not standardized so I can't say whether the header would exist or not (more than likely, it would not).  All headers (except the RECEIVED headers) are available as form.header_<header name>

Right.  So the bounce back should contain the Return_Path header? And that should be a form variable?
