I have never seen the problem with html being rendered as an attachment.  If you can 
give me a sample of such an email and the ColdFusion code that created it then I can 
have someone look at it.

The encoding differences between 2.9x and 3.x are extensive but, basically, we used 
Outlook Express as a benchmark and tried to mimic it's encoding.  We then took the tag 
and ran a test suite that verified compatibility of 10 or so different types of mails 
to several email clients including Outlook Express, Outlook, Pegasus and Eudora.
