1. Winows services that listen for incoming client connections (SMTP, POP, Web, etc) bind to a particular port (basically, they take control of the port).  An SMTP Server will bind to port 25 and listen for incoming connections.  Most TCP/IP servers bind to a port on all IP addresses in the system.  By default, iMS does this as well.  However, you can configure iMS services to bind to a port on a single IP address thus leaving the other IPs on the system available for another service to bind to.  If IMAIL has the same ability then you can effectively run both at the same time (but on different IPs).

2. Yes, iMS looks like a standard SMTP and POP server.

3. Yes, you can do this.  iMS/FusionMail supports multiple domains on a single IP address.

Subject: RE: [iMS] Converting from iMail

1. I am not sure what "binding to a single IP address" is so I would assume that I would have to port over with email down for my user.s

2. I know this works, but must ask.  To the OUTLOOK user iMS acts just as any other SMTP and POP server   Right?

3. All of my DNS entries point to my base address for the mail entry.  I am assuming this would work for iMS SMTP...  ( I am reading the manual now )

Sorry for all the questions but I am sorta being forced into a decision and I need to make certain that if I decide to do this it will work. ( I am sure it will but you know things always happen !! )
