We aren't sending out nearly as much as you are. However, we have been known to send
thousands of e-mails at a time, meaning we have maxed out our simultaneous thread
usage of 1024, which is the most anyone could use at a time no matter how large the
mailing.

Given the above, we have had no performance problems when logging every e-mail.

The bulk of the processing is on our SQL Server (CF barely has to do any work). All
queries are handled through stored procedures that have to make updates on some large
tables. These tables are being constantly hit by several processes and still the
update queries are very fast. Hence, I don't think you should have any problems
logging many e-mails. Just make sure that you limit the connections to CF in the IMS
configurator so that CF doesn't get overloaded.

I hope this makes sense. It is getting late. If you need me to clarify anything,
please let me know.

Marc,

Do you log every single delivery? What size mailings do you do. What DB
server do you use? Do you do anything to minimize the load or do you notice
much of a load?

Brook
