Title: Message
There are several things in iMS required for auth to work:
 
- enable smtp auth in smtp settings
- use FusionMail v2.0 or higher (or, supply your own code that forces smtpauth)
 
BTW - if you are using AllowedIPs in the smtp server then this would usually allow you to relay w/o auth.

So, the problem must be in our server configuration..because I can telnet to our server and establish and SMTP session on port 25.
 
HELO anyname
DATA
QUIT
 
and the message goes through perfectly fine.
 
But the same type of session is used by the SMTP testing tool iMS installs , which doesn't make you specify a password either.
