Dropping official support means that we will no longer be providing updates for that
release (so, there will be no new iMS 2.4 releases). As I'm sure you already know, we
do provide support on this list for iMS and there are plenty of times where the
product is an older version. It's just not feasible to support older versions 100%
because we are offering free upgrades to iMS 2.5 and will only continue providing
updates to that version.
The plan is that we will provide bug fixes for 2.5 (2.5a, for example - which is
coming out before the end of this month). However, iMS 2.6 (currently in planning
stages with an anticipated release in September or October) will not be a free upgrade
(unless you have a current upgrade subscription) and we are, therefore, providing
support for iMS 2.5 until it is 1 year old (June 24, 2004). After that, we will not
be providing updates to 2.5 but will continue providing free support on this list or
priority paid support.
Regards,
Howie
