Subject: Re: [iMS] tokenization not working properly

I'm not sure I'm folowing this.  The POST Server will replace a token with a blank if the token is not defined.  A token definition is either a user-specific token (like what you reproduced below) or a global token.  It looks like the user-specific tokens are blank in the control file.  Is it possible that the query you are using is returning blanks?  Would you be able to provide a working example?

Thanks,

Howie

Subject: [iMS] tokenization not working properly

Hi Howie,

I am having trouble with tokenization. In certain circumstances, a token called isn't being parsed properly in the subject line. Instead, the recipient sees the  in the subject. I have includes samples of when the token does and does not get parse.

Side note: I know using names in a subject is a bad idea, but some of my users like to use names when addressing their contacts :-)

this is a nickname      - Nickname is parsed, last is not
this is a nickname   - first and last are both parsed properly.
this is stuff      - Nickname is parsed, last is not
this is stuff    - both are parse.

In every case, both tokens are blank.

Here is a sample of the control data that isn't properly parsed:

Any ideas? Does my explanation make sense?

Marc
