We are use CF5 to send mail and iMS 2.4.5. Here is the sample from SMTP log file:

PROTECTED]> >
09/10/2003 07:53:16 AM [001] DEBUG: ->250 OK
09/10/2003 07:53:16 AM [001] DEBUG: <-RCPT TO:<[EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL 
PROTECTED]> >
09/10/2003 07:53:17 AM [001] DEBUG: ->550 User name not local
 
Note: emails has been changed

What were you using to send the mail?  Also, "user name not local" does not sound like 
an iMS error (unless you are using custom responses).
