In the past, after a message was parsed and stored, it was sent out to all list
recipients using CFX_iMSMail. This was all done with a priority setting of 5.
I've just changed it so that CF-Talk gets a priority of 3, CF-Community a
priority of 4 and the other lists (low volume) get a priority of 5.
I had just posted something and it came back very fast. a bit faster than I
normally expect for the time of day it was posted. This either means that the
system is processing faster or the bandwidth was upped (or something else). As
the only thing I think was changed was the priority setting, it looks like that
had an effect.
You know the volume we push out and any speed increase, especially on the old
hardware we're running, is a good thing.
As for the next release, I'm always open to looking it over and testing it out.
Anything I can do to help. :)
p.s. I'm still trying to show a good reason to include NNTP feeds into a future
version of iMS.
Could you explain this a bit more?
Also, we're planning on some improvements for 2.5d and anyone with large lists
can contact me off-list for prerelease information. We'll be looking to get the
code to some testers before release.
Thanks,
Howie
