I'll be honest and say I don't know a lot about the NNTP protocol. I'm looking
for some simple way to allow:
1. a template to be called when a request is made for the latest messages.
2. a scheduled task to be run to read the messages added to the group somewhere
else so they can be added to the DB of messages stored on the iMS server.

When someone posts to a news group, where does the message go? To the mail
server thats hosting the group (mail.earthlink.net) or to the server which is
originating the group (houseoffusion.com)? If the former, then there's a need to
gather all those messages and integrate them into the central DB. If the latter,
then there's just a need to accept those messages. I'm hoping for the latter as
it'll allow for my anti-spam filters to keep the group clean.
Know of a fast and good tutorial on NNTP? :)

Lets say there's a group called alt.houseoffusion.cf-talk. When a call is made
to that group to get the latest posts, the server maps that to a specific
template. This template will take the requested group name and generate the
latest messages for it. If a new message is posted to the group from out

OK - well, I never really forgot about it and it's possible that we'd look at
this for 2.6 or 3.0. Are you looking for read-only or would you want posting as
well?

Regards,

Howie
