Sorry for the late reply - we are still looking at
this. Would it be possible to reinstall iMS from a newly downloaded
copy? I remember one client that actually had a bad download and a new
download/reinstall fixed things.
Regards,
Howie

hung
Hi,
Any further ideas on this one. There is definitely
no virus checker on the server, is there something else we should be looking
for?? What could have caused this.

Are you
using a virus scanner on the server? If so, please make sure that it
does not touch any of the iMS folders including the \iMS\Out folder in
particular. Regards,

- Subject: [iMS] IMS SE post server hung
- Hi,
- Today our IMS SE Post server hung, it didn't hang the machine and it
took us 5 hours to realise there was a problem - a user reported that
some mail hadn't been delivered. When we looked at the log, the last
entry was not a proper log entry but a line of binary garbage. We tried
to delete the log file but could not because it was in use. We then
tried to restart the Post server using WIN2K services but could not, not
matter how we tried. In the end we fixed it by a hardware reset on the
machine.
- We are very pleased that it started up again and is happily sending
out the queued mail, but we would like to know why this happened and
what we can do to prevent it from happening again.
- We are running the DEMO version because we want to be sure the
software is reliable and so forth, before we buy ...
- If you want I can send the defective log file to someone to look at,
but it is 5MB, so maybe just the last few lines??
