Hi all,

We have been using the 100 thread iMS SE POST server and we love it - it is really
great.

We have a POP/SMTP server which we picked up somewhere else and a webmail package for
cold fusion which we have modified somewhat ourselves.

We are not really happy with the performance of either and want to give the iMS
POP/SMTP a go and also FusionMail which I understand to be a webmail package (at least
in part).

Our problem is that our CRM allows us to write XML which can be used to configure our
current mail server, without having to use the mail server's own interface - so we
need similar functionality from the iMS mail server - we don't care if it is via a
database (MSSQL by preference) or via XML or some other method - as long as it is
possible and relatively painless to control the mail setup from our CRM - can we do
this?

Also, can people tell me what they think of the following:

1. iMS package - how does it handle load etc, also how many mail accounts would the
100 thread version handle with reasonable ease? Is it fairly bullet proof?
2. FusionMail - as a webmail package, what do end users think if it? We get a huge
number of problems relating to badly formatted emails and attachments with our current
webmail, we really need something that is easy to use and can handle seriously
malformed email and attachments.
3. Virus checking - we do some basic virus checking with our current mail server, but
I understand that it is possible to get a lot more sophisticated checkers with iMS -
what is available and how does this affect the load on the server?

The productions server is a 2.4 gh pentium with 1 gb ram running Windows 2000.

Finally - Howie, if we have the 100 thread POST server installed, can we get a demo
licence to run the POP and SMTP servers? I have a developers licence for the iMS SE -
will that allow me to test the POP and SMTP servers on our development machine?

Ciao,

Michelle
