I'm not sure if I completely understand your question.
I guess it seems like nothing is happening, because currently we don't
have enough moderators. The few we have (apparently) don't have enough time to
visit as a daily, or almost daily routine. (And one recently resigned.)
I can handle the flagging, most of the time. And I can also handle the
messaging, when it's necessary. But since we need at least 2 moderators to
decide the fate of a reported item (by voting) they stay on the moderation page
until a 2nd moderator comes along.
Or sometimes the reason they stay there is because not all moderators
are comfortable with all the duties, so they only vote on certain items. And
that's fine - I'm happy with all the help we can get! But we really do need at
least one more moderator who can visit almost every day. And hopefully someone
who is ok with all the duties.
If I misunderstood your question, please clarify, and I'll try again :-)
