For normal translation, Poedit. Once in a while, I speedy-scan visually the given file with Virtaal, in order to spot spelling mistakes, since Poedit does not have spell check (at least on Windows). Only on occasions, I look directly at the file and into the source code (where possible). This helps me sometime to understand the context for unclear terms.
