Duarte, all these problems you're having I'm also having. The link editor
is too slow for me too.
I already had a problem of losing the translation that was doing, it
happened when I clicked twice to open the link and edit. So when I see a
new link, I get the English version, see the settings and delete the link
and create a new translated version.
I don't always do this, some links have a globe icon and other text, also
some links equal in translated version not appear when publishing, then I
create them again.
The link with globe icon give less problem than the link displayed as text.
