I am an Insights lurker, but Lindsay's reference to The Age story has prompted me to write. As communications coordinator for Vic/Tas and media consultant for the Assembly, on this occasion I happen to know what did not appear in the published Age article. Dean Drayton was interviewed by The Age, and a further comment was made by Robert Johnson (Vic/Tas gen sec). Furthermore, Rosemary Braodstock felt terrible because she was caught on the hop when the newspaper rang and she says she felt pressured to make comments. Her mistake was to ring the journalist back. I was very disappointed in the story because not only did it inappropriately include non-attributable 'pub-talk quotes', but all balancing statements were deleted by the subeditors. I did let the writer of the yarn know may concerns. Kim Cain
