I think it is important to remember a Presbytery CAN ordain a gay and lesbian person just as much as another Presbytery CAN refuse such an ordination. I agree the current state of play falls short of where I think we should be. In my mind, it is absolutely clear we must move to the point where gay and lesbian people are welcomed and *affirmed* in all of our congregations. This entails the ability to seek and receive ordination (under the same 'rules' as for heterosexual people) and the blessing of gay or lesbian unions (marriage). However, I know there are others who are absolutely clear this should not take place. >We do need to find something else, another way... How do you think we should go about doing this?
