Bridges to Understanding Multi Faith Perspectives on Spirituality and Disability
FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT MARK YOUR DIARIES
22nd 25th November 2004 Novotel Homebush Bay Sydney, Australia
Sydney will be hosting an exciting event which continues the tradition of Spirituality and Disability Conferences over the past decade and expands this growing movement. The many different expressions of spirituality and experience of disability provide the focus for this gathering. The aim is to acknowledge the importance of all people having the opportunity to express their spirituality and build bridges into their own spiritual communities.
The conference program will be designed to maximize the involvement of conference participants. We aim to provide for the richest possible debates. We do not expect consensus amongst conference delegates about these issues. We fully expect a lively time of exchange, debate, clashes of opinion and perhaps frustration, as well as times of celebration and hope.
There will be papers presented by a wide range of speakers, people with disabilities, representatives from different disability specific or advocacy organisations as well as leaders of faith communities. These will range from critical analysis to personal stories to expression through creative arts. There will be a mix of plenary sessions, workshops and multi-faith panel presentations.
Further detailed information about this event, including a call for papers, the full program and accommodation options will be available shortly.
