Either the treasurer needs to talk to more people, or he's a liar.
(Given the current record for lying this government has, the latter is
probably more likely, but don't challenge Mr Costello over this, or
he'll claim he was 'mis-quoted' and then he try to frame someone for
misleading him. ;-])

You should email Mr Costello and tell him that you're happy to pay more
tax, and then explain why.  We all should, and CC it to this list, and
then next time he claims he's "never, ever come across anybody ... who
believes they should pay more tax" we can point to this list's archives
and prove that he has been told.

I've never had any problem with the amount of tax I contribute.  My
grievance is with the appalling way in which the government spends it.

You need a catchy little signature on the bottom of your email, saying
"I'm not a taxpayer, I'm a tax paying citizen."
