We watched Charles II and caught the start of Compass, where the program was
itroducted with words to the effect of "in the tradition of Billy Graham",
so (from a 23 year olds perspective who hears about conversion experiences
and faith development through the ministry of Billy G.) I watched.
I was dissapointed because in true Compass style it made Christians look
like fools - get some hip looking skater boys and girls in from the US,
pressure Australian kids into saying prayers that probably don't mean much
to them after giving them a heaven or hell option- on national TV- and make
it look...fun.
It is impressive if something can get 25,000 people to attand over 4 days
(Adelaide 2005???) and for the Word of God to be witnessed to, yes, but for
them to put in that poor young lady who said she had come to the even to see
Darlene and the Hillsong crewe summed it up for me.
I hope that it has worked for people and the Hunter churches have been well
resourced for the planned outcomes.
But no, I thought the program was awful personally.
