This is an unashamed request for the attention of anyone in Canberra on Thursday or near Bathurst next Sunday. Two mixed-bag, very broadly "church music" choir concerts:
(1) The Llewellyn Choir has a concert in Canberra at Weston Creek Uniting Church (Parkinson St) this Thursday 17th June, 7.30pm. Basically the Bathurst concert (see below) plus Faure's Song of Jean racine". Tickets at the door $20, conc. $18, family $50. (2) Allegri Singers (Bathurst) and The Llewellyn Choir (Canberra) and some great young soloists come together for a concert at All Saints Anglican cathedral (Church St) on Sunday 20th June, 2.30pm. The concert includes: Benjamin Britten's "Festival Te Deum" & "Song of St Cecilia" Anton Bruchner's "Os Justi" & "Christus Factus Est" Bach's "Jesus Joy of Man's Desiring" Verdi's "Song of the Hebrew Slaves" and the main work: Antonio Vivaldi's "Gloria" +++ Now, can anyone in Bathurst give me a rundown of churches/addresses/times for services in walking distance of Bathurst's city centre? (The LLewellyn Choir people are staying at various motels close to the city centre.) We would definitely need to tell people about: Uniting, Anglican, RC, and if possible Baptist, Lutheran, etc... Thanks in anticipation, Chris.
