I'm going to take a stab and say that translations of the words/images/ideas of God and Christ into the culture do not matter, infact they are probably what's seperated the church over the many years.  We cannot agree on translation therefore we split.  Culture at the moment doesnt care about the ultimate truth, the REAL translation, the movement from the Jesus to Christ to Messiah to Sacrificial Lamb doesnt really mean squat. What Jesus said and did and how he did/said them however, there lies the beauty, the importance.  Jesus told the 70 to go and spread the good news (what I'd think was the beatitudes) about God before he was crucified... The good news was there to be spread well before he had died. Once again I say that Jesus did much more than babble about a God... The Christ he believes people are desperate to know is:     The apocolyptic Jesus who meets the yearning to be changed     The healing Jesus who meets the yearning to be whole     The addiction free Jesus meets the yearning to be free     The equipping Jesus meets the yearning for mentors     The advocate Jesus who meets the yearning for vindication     Jesus the heir to Eden meets the yearning for a meaningful Destiny. How can these rantings be taken seriously?  By us acting them out, I dont just plan on talking about jesus, i plan on living it out, isnt that how we say it makes a difference, how it can be taken seriously? Are we trying to educate people about Jesus /God/Spirit or are we allowing them a space to experience them? Perhaps its all about relationships rather than translations...
