Great idea. I'm trying to get this kind of thing happening by a "back door" method. We have instituted a "Favourite Hymn" slot in our service where people can nominate a favourite to be sung. The catch is that they must be prepared to introduces the hymn by talking about why it's a favourite and what it has meant in their faith journey. Last Sunday was especially moving as I read an introduction to a favourite hymn from a lady who has been unable for health reasons to attend in person for some years and she shared why her favourite hymn is one with the chorus, "God is love, God is love".
