I am running Redhat 5.1, kernel 2.1.124, pcmcia 3.0.6, bios A01.
I have installed XBF-neomagic-glibc-1.1.0-1.rpm and it works OK at
1024x768x16.
I just rebuilt the kernel to include power management. Suspend/Resume
works fine from text mode.
When I suspend from X, the computer powers off as expected. When I
resume however, things are VERY bad. The display looks like it has
'blown up' - that's the best way I can put it. The backlight appears
very uneven and what was originally on the screen appears very dimmly
and with shadows etc. there is also a solid bar of white down the left
side. In short, I had a heart attack when I saw the display....
I immediately powered the computer off and rebooted. Fortunatley
everything still works OK (except suspend from X).
Have any other users seen such strange behaviour and, if so, are there
any solutions?
Note that I have read all past posts on this subject and they don;t seem
to match what's happening to me.
