Well, first problem that pops into my mind is that your IRQ/DMA settings
are incorrect. If you have one DMA set right and the other isn't, it
would probably do this. I would imaging the OSS/Linux package would
autoconfigure everything right(I haven't fooled with that)? Just go check
your /proc/sndstat and write down all the info, then go set your OSS/Free
package just like that. And you're right, that is odd having sound in the
kernel.
