I try to configure the sound device in my Dell Inspiron 3200 but I cannot
get it to work.
I installed the oss package that comes with the S.u.S.E distribution and
followed the installation instructions. Every time I try to play a sound
file, I get an I/O error /dev/??? (I'm not sure what the device name was)
does not exist.

Windows98 tells me the Sound Card is a Crystal PnP card, but oss does not
find the card during the automatic configuration. I tried to configure the
card manually an selected one Crystal card after another in the selection
menu of the soundconf setup program and also tried SoundBlaster 16, but
nothing helped.

Does anybody have how I can get my sound card to work?

Thanks

Peter
