All I can say is I did it with the CD-ROM from RedHat (5.1), What I did was
get our IT people to give me the I3.2k with 1.1Gb win95 (they aren't keen on
win98
yet) and leave the rest of the disk free. Then when it came time to install
linux I made a
swap partition and data partition to fill the rest of the disk and dual boot is
as easy
as typing dos at the lilo: prompt for win95 or leaving it for linux.
You can edit /etc/lilo.conf to alter the default boot drive and the amount of
memory you
have. Then run lilo -v
My lilo.conf looks like.
boot = /dev/hda
timeout = 150
prompt
vga = extended
read-only
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
image = /boot/vmlinuz-2.0.35-1
append = "mem=79M"
label = linux
root = /dev/hda5
other = /dev/hda1
label = dos
table=/dev/hda
I set the mem to 79Mb even though I have 80 for safety sake and increased the
timeout & set the display to be extended vga.
Honestly it was real easy (I didn't use fdisk when I had the choice in the
RedHat installer & the new partition s/ware is okay)
