Okay, I gave up on the ftp install of redhat 5.2. I bought the 5.1 CD at
the local store and am trying to install it on my 3.2K.
Here's the new problem. When installing the packages, or checking the disk
for errors, the computer generates quite a few errors. When writing, it
seems related to hda being busy. There is an irq error followed by an hda
timeout error. I know the disk is good because it ran Win98 just fine.
Question: Why is a perfectly good hard drive generating so many hda errors?
Question: I have the drive partitioned into a 3.9gig partition and a 100meg
swap. partition. Creating more partitions increases the erros I get. Will
Linux use a 3.9 gig partition properly?
Thanks,
Travis
When installed, my 3.2k will be a win32 free machine.
