Huh? What do you mean it won't write to a Win98 partition? I thought the partitions
were still Vfat...is Fat32 what isn't supported?

Linux will read from but not write to Win98 partitions
when the hpfs file system capabiliity is active as a module (insmod
hpfs)
or built into the kernel.
Thus download the Linux RAGE driver under Win98,
boot linux
insmod hpfs
mount /dev/hda1 -t hpfs /mnt
with hda1 presumably your Win98 partition
cp /mnt/RAGE /root
and install RAGE appropriate to a REDHAT system.
In my Debian system, the hpfs.o module is physically located at
/lib/modules/2.0.34/fs
