Check the archives... I emailed a description of my experience with this a while
back. I got it to work on my I7K with Red Hat 5.2 after much hacking around.
Don't have the machine here in front of me now, so this is from memory...

- Be sure to get the latest pcmcia module (I was successful with 3.0.6) from
http://hyper.stanford.edu/HyperNews/get/pcmcia/home.html
- If the card doesn't work, check /var/log/messages for messages like: "IRQ
blocked by another device". Exclude the IRQ mentioned in the messages file in
/etc/pcmcia/config.opts.

On my I7k the 3Com card was coming up using IRQ3 which is the WinModem IRQ on
under Win98. Even though the WinModem is not recognized by Linux, I somehow
managed to toast the WinModem trying to get the 3Com card working on IRQ3.
Eventually, by excluding IRQs, I was able to get the 3Com card working.

HTH
