THis may sound stupid, but there is a different suspend combination for suspend to
disk as to suspend to ram...at least on my 3K...

Subject: Suspend under Linux
Hi!
I have a rather stupid question. I'm running SuSE Linux 6.0 on an
Inspiron 3500 and I have the APM package installed. If I leave the machine
alone for long enough, it will suspend to disk (which is exactly what I've
set in the BIOS). Now sometimes I'd like to enforce a suspend to disk, but
when I press the suspend key or when I simply close the lid, I get a
suspend to RAM and not to disk. This behaviour is rather annoying, as it
means that I must always perform a proper shutdown, if I want to switch
off the machine (and boot Linux anew later). How can I "convince" the
suspend key to suspend to disk?
Thanx for your help!
Werner
