I compiled 2.2.0pre9 (which I understand is the same as 2.2.0) and it didn't
shut off on powerdown. I thought that maybe I had forgot to check the right
box in xconfig. Maybe there is another issue.
By the way, I also compiled the pcmcia 3.0.8 after I compiled the 2.2.0
final kernel today. It compiled without error. I know that some other
people had questions about getting this package to compile under 2.2.0.
I'll find out tomorrow if any of this new stuff works when I reboot my
machine tomorrow morning :).

Subject: Kernel 2.2.0 and APM
Has anyone tried compiling APM under the new 2.2.0 kernel on their
inspirons?
I've tried about three times (on my 3.2k), and the poweroff on shutdown
function
doesn't work. No problems under 2.0.36 though.
