This thread has gotten way off topic, so I'll ask my question again.

Has anyone had any success with the "Poweroff on Shutdown" function in the
2.2.0 kernel? I've compiled like thrice already, and it won't work. Similarly,
I still can't suspend in an X console without the computer acting as if it has
taken some high grade sandoz purple,. This happens under both 2.2.0 or 2.0.36.
Using Xfree 3.3.3, all the latest drivers etc. Poweoff works fine under 2.0.36,
so why not 2.2.0? I'm using an inspiron 3.2k for all who care to know.
