Hi,
Can you reproduce this problem trying to install once again?
Could you log a bug against ips->gui on the http://defect.opensolaris.org 
providing the following information:
output from:
 $ pkg authority
 $ pkg version

If the packagemanager will hang please do:
 $ pstack <pid of packagemanager>
 $ pfexec pstack 3434

And provide the information from this together with the bug report.
