I don't know what "a DNS error" means or what sorts of drivers you
might be using.  Besides visiting the nwam-discuss at opensolaris.org
list, you may want to check out the current troubleshooting
information:

There are several basic steps here that can help you identify problems
on your own.  In particular, step 7 ("none of the above") includes
instructions on obtaining debug information.

That sounds like a bad driver ... I suggest describing the issue in
detail on driver-discuss at opensolaris.org.  The likely next step there
would be to boot the system using kmdb, and find out why the system is
hanging.

I don't think there's enough information here to answer.

I can say that I've used Orinoco (pcwl) cards with OpenSolaris (and
NWAM) without trouble.  But whether that is comparable to your
situation or not, I cannot tell.
