On the build 110 livecd, the boot_archive file has a size of 64 mbytes. I don't remember any more what size the boot_archive file has on an installed 2008.05; but on 2008.11 it is 25 mbytes. (Probably less than 25 mbytes for 2008.05) What was the time from GRUB menu to SunOS banner when OS 2008.05 was installed on the stick? ~ 1minute? Note than an installed OS 2009.1H has a boot_archive file size of ~ 32 mbytes; so an installed OS 2009.1H should boot much faster compared to the live image... -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
