Is there a blessed alternative to pkg.opensolaris.org that packages can be
retrieved from?

I am new to the OS and have installed from the 05.2008 ISO image (build 86).
When following the directions posted for updating the system to the OpenSolaris
Development Build the first set of steps says to perform a pkg refresh, etc,
etc. The problem is this times out... and has done so at least 5 times in the
last 2 hours.

I have already set PKG_CLIENT_TIMEOUT=120... this hasn't helped... other than I
get to sit and stare at the screen longer before I see a timeout message.

I have gone through many messages in the forums and tried everything from
simple reboots to modifying my MTU and nothing has helped. The link between my
office and the internet is a 3MB burstable DSL connection and I was able to
download the ISO images for OpenSolaris, Solaris 10 (2GB), and Fedora Core
(3.9GB) to my new 05.2008 machine in less than 4 hours total so I know speed on
my end isn't an issue. Is the solution really to wait until 0300 to do any
work?

Any help would be great... I have a bunch of testing I would like to start
doing but this kind of stops that.

Thanks

Justin
