Can you please tell the steps you have done to Lu & patchadd the system (what all option have you used with these commands) ?
Apart psopool area is used to keep the a copy of files which will be used while creating a zone (as the original copy like any config file can be modified in global zone and we would require a fresh copy for newly installed zone). Apart pspool also have a copy of undo.Z (backout package) which is copied in the zones s othat the patch DB can be maintained separately within zones. If you are adding patch with -d option you will not get any undo.Z on you system (and you will not be able to backout those patches). Also you can add patches with -B option, that will place backout patches (undo.Z) in separate location.
