Hi,

The system is a 64 bit system and it's trying to boot in 64 bits mode.

I can boot easily in failsafe mode.

I didn't install any add-ons or third party drivers...

I just did a simple Solaris install from the DVD and on the first reboot, the
system simply reset itself again and again and again...

I can see some output, but it passed so fast on the screen, I can't tell what
it is...

Dave Miner told me to boot using the -k option to get into kmdb and use the
::stack to see where the panic is occuring. I did and I get two pages of stuff
into kmdb.

>From the top, I get:

kaif_enter+8()
kdi_dvec_enter+0xd()
debug_enter+0x66()
pan icsys+0x3ac()
vpanic+0x187()
0xfffffffffb8456d2()
vmem_hash_delete+0x70 ()
vmem_xfree+0x3f()
vmem_free+0x28()
kmem_free+0xe4()
acpica`AcpiOs Free+0x14()
acpica`AcpiUtFreeAndTrack+0x8c()
acpica`AcpiPurgeCachedObjects +0x41()
acpica`AcpiInitializeObjects+0x47()
acpica`acpica_init0xaa()
ac pica`acpica_isa_device_enum+0x4a()

etc...

So this seems like Acpi problems...Ok.

I just tried again with adding -B acpi-user-options=2 -kv, the system basically
hangs !

The last couple of lines are :

root nexus = i86pc
pseudo0 at root
pseudo0 is /pseudo
scsi_vhci0 at root
scsi_vhci0 is /scsi_vhci
isa0 at root
npe0 at root: space 0 offset 0
npe0 is /pci at 0,0

Then, the cursor and the system is hanged! I must reset.

I tried again with -B acpi-user-options and this time, the system panics and in
kmdb ::stack, I get the same result as the first test (no -B stuff). It's a
panic, not a hang.

Last test, with -B acpi-user-options=8 -kv, I get the same result.

What next ?

Simon.
