I wish I knew the answer as well, but I can say that it appears to be fixed in the latest SXCR. I booted SXCR build 54 on the MacBook and it properly recognized the GPT partitions. Additionally, format -e reported the correct partition information, whereas build 50 did not. This message posted from opensolaris.org
