1) What says Sun Device Detection Tool about your HW?

It finds all hdw - and nothing not found or without drivers

2) What says 'cat /etc/release' command?

The MBR boot code installed by OpenSolaris also
has the special requirement that the boot disk is
bios drive 0x80 / C:

or this:
I installed OpenSolaris on the second disk. Then I booted into Ubuntu
(on the first disk) and added the following to Ubuntu's menu.lst:

title OpenSolaris
rootnoverify (hd1,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1

It works great!


I do not really think you can boot opensolaris that way (From a Linux grub)  
but maybe it will work.
