SPARC graphics drivers have always been closed source and unfortunately SPARC Solaris has just transitioned from XSun to Xorg which means all the old closed source graphics drivers are useless. Sun only supports Xorg on cards that have not been EOLed with is about 3 the last time I checked. It is not possible to open source the existing SPARC graphics drivers, however some work has been done by Martin Bochnig et al to port the pre-existing Xorg drivers to SPARC Solaris.
